At the beginning of migration to Austria the belivers prayed under stairs approaches, in rented garages or similar unsuitable premises, often in Sore places of workers' dormitories. The next step was rented halls, workshops or discontinued businesses sites - it emerged the so-called "backyard mosques." Criteria such as accessibility by foot and cheap rents also led to the fact that many of these mosques in the redevelopment areas were European cities.

The next step was the first property acquired as mosques, sometimes even the building architecturally attractive, the traditional Islamic architecture following mosques. With the acquisition manifested the former "guest workers" their intention to permanently live in Europe.

Organisationally one of the central tasks of the department of community development and support the creation of mosque communities, the association support and the organization of community work.
The Department of Community Development supervises the community work and builds organisational problems for relief. With the creation of communities they care to the design of the statute and important tax aspects of community work.
